- HAND GESTURES -

Hand gestures ar performed by one or two hands. For movements involving the rest of the body, see gesture. Some hand gestures are closely tied to speech, some are like words themselves. Some hand gestures are conventionalized and culture specific. This means that this type of gestures have a fixed meaning that can be verbalized in a couple of words within one culture.
