Massaranduba (Manilkara bidentata) is also known as Brazilian Redwood, has heartwood with a beautiful dark reddish brown color that is nearly blemished free. It's one of the finest products available for exterior decking. The grain of the Massaranduba board is a fine smooth straight grain, with a slight shift along the length of the board.

Common Names : Acana, Aus, Ausabo, Balata, Balata franc, Balata gomme, Balata rouge, Beefwood, Bolletri, Bolletrie, Bulletwood, Chicozapota, Macaranduba, Maparajuba, Massarandu, Nispero, Pamashto, Paraju, Quinilla colorada, Red balata.

Massaranduba is an environmentally conscious lumber; there is no need for preservatives.  It only needs to be treated annually with an oil-based hardwood finish otherwise it will fade to a silver gray hue.
