Alice's diary: Chapter 1
Friday May 18 2007

I was told I would escape from my case at 2pm. But it was only around 1:20pm when I was released, put together and used by another unfamiliar person. Said person is Elizabeth, whom David knows from living in the same building. Again, she knows what she's doing with me, and David calmed down in her presence. Elizabeth helped put me together, and I think that might be something...

Then finally I emerged at 2pm with Chrissie. Chrissie has her own accomplice, and she is capable of manipulating her very well indeed. Which is why she's here. I'm not quite sure why my head got swapped with that of Chrissie's accomplice, but for some reason that did happen.

Quirks note: Chrissie wanted to play Alice, but had a slight cold and didn't want to infect Alice's mouthpiece. As a result, the mouthpieces were swapped briefly, so Chrissie was playing Alice while using the mouthpiece of her own clarinet. This was then swapped around before I started playing.

David started pushing my buttons, which was very pleasing. All up top, I must say - what is he doing? Oh, that's Chrissie telling him to do it. It's just those few notes that can be played one-handed, and nice and low to reduce the amount of squeaking. David does sometimes make me squeak, alas.

It seems as though something's happening to me. David was even consistently producing sounds in the absence of anyone else - I think this might be down to the fact that my reed was in the right spot.

I next meet Chrissie on Wednesday, apparently. I await this meeting excitedly.
