Next week I intend to independently make my way to a pretty spot about twenty miles from here for a bit of wandering and possibly creative writing. If Mum decides this is not acceptable, her parenting methods are not acceptable, and I shall have to seriously consider moving to a more northern university - i.e. one that is absolutely beyond day-trip distance from home, which Southampton is not - at the first opportunity.

Meanwhile, rumours from a former DoND contestant who has auditioned (I think) for the UK version of Endemol's other International Megahit Een Tegen 100 suggests it's offering a possible top prize of One Million Pounds, Cash, Tax-Free. It's on the BBC. That combination makes my brain ache. The Commentariat have been discussing the plausibility of this rumour. I'm with those who are just begging for the BBC to use the Dutch formula. Or better yet the Belgian one (i.e. rounded to the nearest cent)...
