Only an Aspie could have this type of performance anxiety
By recent tradition, all performing arts societies at Southampton put on a collective variety show with each society chipping in with one small performance rehearsed over one week.

That includes the choirs, which means that this time next week I will have performed in it. At a professional theatre (that happens to be on campus), with several hundred people watching, and some elaborate lighting effects possible.

Nobody but me could be primarily afraid of the last of these.

Fortunately, I am in touch with the lighting technicians, who seem to be aware of my sensory issues, and say that there shouldn't be any for this particular part of the show but that they will try and reduce any risk that does exist where practical.

If I ever end up successfully taking this performing lark seriously, and perhaps even if I don't, I suspect I shall end up purchasing glasses with photochromic lenses, in order to better deal with the Wrong Kind Of Shiny.
