So Sarah Lang has become the first person in the UK to be a quiz millionaire 1.0325 times over. Her wins were separated by precisely a year, though the latter needed two appearances. Does this make a mockery of the US 'one-year rule' between game show appearances, or does it suggest the UK needs something similar? I'm unsure.
And what does it say about ITV that I'm impressed when they get 5.8m viewers in the overnights for the Event Television finale to one of their key summer shows? They are in crisis. Question: would they have made a hit out of Deal or No Deal, and if so would it have been as a primetime show for a seven-figure prize akin to the US version? (Of course, owing to tax and currency differences, One Million Pounds Cash would have been the second largest jackpot in the format anywhere in the world after the Dutch original...)
Have discovered Sid Meier's SimGolf. The demo is my guilty pleasure; it looks cartoonish and silly but is wonderfully fun. I am certainly going to buy the full version if I can find it at a price that reflects its four-and-a-half-year age, and maybe even if I can't.
Teenage life: three days left. Coming soon: lyrics reflecting my emotions as my freedom slowly emerges.
