Quirks presents...

Historique

30th October 2006

11:59pm: A somewhat perfectionist female student in my university accommodation has agreed to follow a minor variation on my own gym programme. Her aim is to become stronger; chances are, this will also involve the positive side-effect of weighing more than 50kg, which is not true at present. (She is 166cm tall, incidentally.)

Second singing lesson at 1500: second Did I say break? post in the hours following.

Foolhardily, on my radio show on Sunday, I played three different songs and then asked the audience to email or text to vote for which one I would perform at karaoke. Three people voted, two of them for... wait for it...

...Beautiful. Yes.

Out of a combination of choice and necessity, C. Aguilera's extrapolated high notes will be removed (even an octave down, I would be nervous with them) and some other changes may be made; the result will be heavily influenced, not by the Aguilera version, but by the Alex Parks version. (I performed Yellow last week in a similar vein, and may well complete the hat-trick by performing Everybody Hurts next week. Actually, I could do all the covers from Introduction in successive weeks, karaoke songlist restrictions permitting... that would mean Imagine the following week, and that might actually be it.)
