Completely unsurprising news from G***le.

Oh dear. Not only will this be a terrible show, but being on this channel means there won't be the top-quality comedy criticism in the Week later in the year. And good grief, it's in HD, so the probable child actors will presumably be caked with makeup. (Thankfully, we can still consider Strictly Come Dancing as the first UK game show in HD...)

My Firefox weather plugin suggests that as of 1300 BST today, the temperature here is 18C, with higher temperatures still to come. Make it stop, I'm very sensitive to heat. Remind me why I made the plans I did for this summer again?

Speaking of which, in a quite astonishing development, I have felt able to tell Mum about these plans, albeit in a modified form, and she has not objected to them. Not bad judgement, for someone who recently purchased a 37" plasma TV despite a) me informing her that the LCD technology is far more energy-efficient, her response to this being 'I don't give a shit'; b) the far more reasonable consumer electronic upgrade relating to the home PC, which is now five years old with a PSU that is making such a racket that even she concedes the PC is unusable. (Furthermore, replacing this PC would cost half what she paid for this TV.)

Other plans exist in my life, but there's another post in that.
