12:01pm: Absent Ethics
Final night of Absent Friends went well, with a single very minor timing mishap that was corrected by the other person on the lighting desk (the technical director Clayton); I came out of a blackout sooner than was intended, but the transition out of it was 'paused' about half a second in by Clayton, and nobody noticed a thing.

Went along to the aftershow party, was terrified when I couldn't find it at first, ended up making it, and slightly wished I hadn't given the noise and density of people. Including a remarkable number of smokers amongst the cast, would you believe, and that gave me all the excuse I needed to stay away from the centre of proceedings. (Why a singer should be any more concerned about this than an actor is beyond me, especially as these are better at acting than I am at singing...)

Everyone got a present. The females involved got flowers; the males got chocolates. From Nestlé, damnit. Not that anyone involved was to know of my ethical objections, of course, and the thought was lovely. And will spread, because I'm handing the chocolates to Carly, who is the only reason I was involved at all.

New aspiration is to design the lighting for one show as well as running the lighting desk; the intention behind that is for Clayton to actually not be involved in a show, for he literally has to be forced not to and even that is rarely enough. Edit: lawks, this is post 100!
