1:37am: The correct song to sing at this karaoke night, a recent addition to the Kelly Clarkson canon
Specifically, Never Again.

H2O has closed, and on a recommendation from a friend I went to The Edge, a nearby bar. It's the inferior big brother to H2O, and why this place is open and thriving while H2O is closed is utterly beyond me.

As is why I, or anyone, paid £3 to join in the 'fun' from a drag queen host whose sense of humour owed more to Jimmy Carr than Paul O'Grady, and who spent 15 minutes with a song cued up before disappearing without warning, to emerge with a different dubious costume to the last one. (Had a good voice, though.) Also three moving lights providing awkward sources of Shiny, although generally the place was rather dark so I was fine.

As for the singing, which is why I was actually there, I'm With You went at least as well as ever, the second song (delayed by no fewer than 140 minutes with only about twenty people present, many of whom did not sing and more than one of the others singing twice) would have been National Express but while it was listed as available it was not, and I ended up opting for A Winter's Tale, which I didn't sing as well as I'd like because people threw themselves at me, making for the most uncomfortable performance of my life.

That once again leaves me without a venue on Tuesdays. Actually, that was the last night ever for that particular host, and good riddance too. I may see if there's a replacement, but if not the Karaoke Week plan may not come into effect, or may be a Wednesday-Monday affair with an earlier-than-planned Tuesday morning return to Weymouth - which is probably closer to optimal...
